After the rather rough crossing we headed to Jaco beach. There are a number of nightclubs and discotheques along the beach, but we spent most of our time reading in the shade and convalescing.
Quincho and Eugenio were pretty hung over when we headed from Jaco to Heredia with the bikes strapped to the roof of their car so they suggested that they’d take a nap in the shade while we hiked in Carara National Park. We returned a couple of hours later to find Joe alone in the car. He said Eugenio got tired of waiting and was walking back to Heredia. Turned out it was really a huge fight and Sue practically had to threaten Joe to get him to let Eugenio back in the car when we finally found him.
Back in Heredia we enjoyed a few days with the family and got a chance to visit the coffee farm while picking was in full swing.
After a last few days in Heredia with the Rodriguezes, we headed back to Colorado. The trip home wasn’t as exciting as the inbound journey, but we did manage to end up spending another unexpected day in El Salvador, and a night in Los Angeles.
