Turquoise-browed Motmot (Eumomota superciliosa) – lowlands (to 2,600 feet) N. Pacific slope south to Tárcoles. Hunts butterflies, moths, bees and even dragonflies in flight and darts off a perch to snatch beetles, spiders, small lizards and snakes from the ground then often returns to the perch to beat them loudly against a branch before eating them.
