Southern Costa Rica Eco-Adventure

Day 1:  Welcome to Costa Rica!  Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport, you will receive a VIP Airport Greeting by a Toucan Maps Inc. representative.  A Private transfer will then be provided to the Trogón Lodge, located in Copey (Paso Sangrea). This area is located at few thousand feet in elevation in primary cloud forest, and is considered to be a bird watcher's paradise.  During your stay, you will enjoy a comfortably equipped room with Savegre River or cloud forest view.

Day 2:  A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a walk in search of some of the many birds that inhabit the cloud forest, particularly the elusive Resplendent Quetzal.  Along the way your guide will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna.

Day 3: Be sure to eat a light breakfast!  Today you will go on a high speed, high flying canopy zipline adventure.  On this gravity defying adventure,  you will soar through the canopy of the cloud forest on zipline cables, suspended by wheel and harness.

For those that want a little slower pace, a natural reserve and bird watching hike can be exchanged.

Day 4:  A private transfer will be provided through the scenic mountain side and out to Hacienda Baru along the magnificent southern Costa Rica coastline.  During your stay, you will enjoy a Private cabin equipped with 2 double beds and 1 single bed, safety box with pool and forest view.  Each cabin is located a short walk from the beach.

Day 5:  Today you will have your choice of the following activities:

A) A professional guide will accompany you on a thrilling tree climb into the canopy of the rainforest.  No experience necessary.  After a safety briefing, your guide will assist you the entire way.

B) You will be hoisted by an electric winch up to a canopy platform, where you will be able to observe the canopy of the rainforest.  With a little luck you may be able to spot tropical birds or other wildlife that live in the treetops.

Day 6: Today is yours to explore and enjoy the beautiful beaches of the South Pacific.  This area is famous for white sand, palm studded beaches.  Top recommendations for exploration on your own include the beaches right behind Hacienda Baru (seasonal turtle nesting) or the many groomed nature trails throughout the property.  Playa Dominical is located just south of Hacienda Baru and offers a cool atmosphere, restaurants, shops and bars.

Day 7:  A shuttle transfer will bring you back to Juan Santamaria International Airport or to a San Jose area hotel.
